Safe, conductive surfaces for potentially explosive areas
With our ATEX coatings, we are expanding our technical coating portfolio to include the important component of protective coatings for EX areas. The range is specifically aimed at industries in which explosive atmospheres can occur. We apply ATEX coatings directly at the customer's site or – for larger quantities, series and extensive components – at our plant in Dortmund.
An ATEX coating is a special surface or material coating that is approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with the European ATEX directive (ATmosphères EXplosibles).
Explosive atmospheres can occur when flammable gases, vapors, mists, or dusts are present. Examples include:
Our ATEX coatings make a decisive contribution to safety and operational reliability in sensitive industrial areas. They fulfil several key functions:
In practice, these are conductive or dissipative special coatings that prevent dangerous sparking and thus make a significant contribution to explosion protection.
We use coatings from leading manufacturers such as Vestocor GmbH and Geholit + Wiemer.

Surfaces coated with ATEX-compliant coatings prevent electrostatic charging and thus potential sparks, which could lead to serious consequences.
To ensure maximum flexibility and efficiency, we offer two powerful options:
We combine many years of experience in the field of technical coatings with comprehensive expertise in safety-critical applications – for reliable, documented and standard-compliant ATEX surfaces.
